Hier is vanuit de beroepsgroep (VAJN, SVMA, Nederlandse orde van advocaten) en VluchtelingenWerk Nederland flink tegen gelobbyd. Tegelijkertijd wordt aangekondigd dat de dwangsomregeling gaat verdwijnen. Een effectief rechtsmiddel dat er was om de IND tot actie te laten overgaan verdwijnt hiermee. Dit geldt voor alle vreemdelingenzaken, dus niet alleen asielzaken.
